PALISADES ELEMENTARY

The Palisades Elementary Foundation is a non-profit corporation whose goal is to improve the quality of the children’s education at Palisades Elementary through donations and fundraising activities. 

 

The Foundation uses its funds to supply students and teachers with resources that they might not otherwise be able to obtain due to budget constraints. We work closely with the school administration and PTA to ensure that donations are specifically targeted to have maximum impact where they are most needed. 

 

With its formation in 2018, the Foundation purchased 32 Chromebooks and two charging stations! In early 2020 we organized a donation drive (and the community came out in force) to help stock the new Innovation Lab with tools, supplies and furniture, and purchased a new Knex set. The Foundation also scored the school’s first ever soccer goals, a purchase that was initiated by some industrious students donating their lemonade stand money!  Since then we have provided our teachers with document cameras, furnished the Art Studio, and added hundreds of new books and shelving to our Library.  Additionally, the Foundation has funded numerous teacher grant requests, ranging from supplemental curriculum and sensory tools, to STEAM equipment and software, all of which elevates and expands our students' interest and engagement in state of the art learning opportunities.

 

The Foundation’s funding comes from a number of sources, including direct donations, AmazonSmile, Kroger Community Rewards, dining and shopping events, Halloween candy buy-backs, auctions, bake sales, corporate matching, etc.

 

We’re humbled by our community and the strong support they’ve given. We also know there’s a long road ahead. We have monthly meetings that are open to all parents; we welcome your interest and participation. Your involvement gives you a voice in the direction Palisades is going and that which is important to you.  We are always looking for volunteers to support our events and fundraising activities, and new perspective is appreciated.  Being a part of the Foundation is a way to connect with Palisades families, staff, and the community; it is both fun and rewarding!  Please visit our website to find out how to get involved or donate.
